COMPANY SUMMARY
Lucas Energy, Inc. (Lucas) is an independent oil and gas company based in Houston, Texas with approximately 12,500 gross acres (10,400 acres net) of oil and gas leases in South Texas primarily in the Gonzales County and Wilson County, Texas. The Company is engaged in the exploration and production of oil and natural gas. It holds oil and gas interests in the Austin Chalk formation, Buda formation and Eagle Ford Shale formation. As of March 31, 2010, Lucas operated 30 wells that produced approximately 190-200 barrels of oil per day (BOPD) gross. During the fiscal year ended March 31, 2010 (fiscal 2010), its oil production sales totaled 27,833 barrel oil equivalent. In July 2009, the Company began the LEI 2009-II capital program. On July 1, 2011, it purchased all of Nordic Oil USA 1, LP (Nordic 1) right, title and interest in certain oil, gas, and mineral leases located in Wilson, Gonzales and Karnes Counties, Texas.
MANAGEMENT
CEO – William A. Sawyer
Mr. Sawyer is a proven hands-on energy executive with over 35 years of diversified experience in the energy industry with firms such as ARCO, Houston Oil & Minerals, The Superior Oil Company, and Energy Resources Company (ERCO). He founded the petroleum consulting firm of Exploitation Engineers, Inc. in 1980; The firm of Plantation Petroleum Corporation in 1981; and Lucas Energy, Inc. in 2004. As a registered professional engineer (now called a licensed professional engineer), Mr. Sawyer has provided petroleum consulting services to private investors, independent oil companies, banking institutions, major energy and chemical companies, and the US government.
CFO – Anthony C. Schnur
Anthony Schnur has served as CFO and CEO of several companies including his last position as CFO of Chroma Oil & Gas, LP. Mr. Schnur is 47 years old and has more than 25 years of experience, with 15 years in the oil and gas industry. Also, Mr. Schnur has served on the Board of Directors of two E&P companies. He is a member of IPAA, Houston Energy Finance Group, and other industry organizations. Mr. Schnur has a BSBA from Gannon University and an MBA from Case Western Reserve University.
Chairman – Ryan Morris
Ryan J. Morris is the Managing Member of Meson Capital Partners LLC (“Meson LLC”), a San Francisco-based investment partnership, which he founded in February 2009. Mr. Morris is currently Executive Chairman of the Board of InfuSystem Holdings, Inc., an NYSE-MKT listed company. From June 2011 through July 2012, Mr. Morris served as a member of the equity committee responsible for maximizing value to the stockholders of HearUSA, Inc. (subsequently HUSA Liquidating Corporation), an NYSE Amex-listed company in Chapter 11 bankruptcy, which has since liquidated its assets and ceased operations.
Director – Fred Hofheinz
Mr. Hofheinz, the former Mayor of the City of Houston 1974-1978, began his business career with his late father, Roy Hofheinz, Sr., the founder of the Houston Astrodome and the initial owner of the Houston Astros baseball team. Mr. Hofheinz played a key role in the family real estate development projects surrounding the Astrodome, including an amusement park and four hotels. He was the senior officer of Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey Circus, which was owned by the Hofheinz family. In 1971, Mr. Hofheinz co-founded a closed circuit television company, Top Rank, which is now the leading professional boxing promotion firm in the nation.
